ARP Closeout Deadline

Invited towns must submit by Mar. 14

The U.S. Treasury has started sending invitations to select towns to officially close out their ARP funds reporting. Not all towns have received this invitation yet. If your town has received one, the deadline to complete the closeout report is Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Once your town submits the closeout report, you are no longer required to file the annual Project & Expenditure Report that is normally due each April.

However, if your town has not received a closeout invitation—or if you miss the March 14 deadline—you must still submit the annual April report.

Treasury is also hosting Closeout Office Hours for towns that received an invitation. Participation is limited to invited towns only. Please check your email for instructions on how to join.

How to initiate closeout:

1. Go to Treasury’s Portal and sign in using Login.gov or ID.me

2. Navigate to “Closeout Reports”
3. Check the box next to the applicable closeout report.
4. Click “Request to Close Out” to initiate closeout.
5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the closeout steps.

Important note about updating P&E reports after initiating closeout

If you update and re-submit your most recently submitted P&E Report (for example, to correct SF-425-related information), you may no longer be considered in the “Closeout Initiated” category and would need to initiate closeout again after re-submission by selecting “yes” on the closeout pop up box that appears after you submit your Annual and Q1 2026 report.
